Thomas Craven, a single father, has been a Boston homicide detective for many years. His 24-year-old daughter Emma, his only child, is killed on the front steps of his home. At first it appears that Craven was the intended target. He soon uncovers evidence that leads him to think differently, and decides to pursue the information at all costs.

The Contract stars Oscar-winner Morgan Freeman as assassin Frank Carden, and John Cusack as mild-mannered teacher Ray Keene. Released directly to video in the United States and most of Europe, The Contract received little critical notice, despite its high-profile cast.

Nicholas Cage plays a bad (and i mean extremely bad, perverse, and decadent) cop in this movie. The film is almost Pulp Fictionesque in its level of bad taste – something which i find totally refreshing for a Nicholas Cage movie. I really enjoyed his totally corrupt behaviour and sexually twisted roleplay. The immense cheek and barefaced shamelessness which he adopts every time he takes a hit of crack ….

Absolutely stunning performance from Russel Crowe as a Newspaper Tabloid Journalist who is befriended with a statesman whose mistress is murdered and is recieving bad political exposure for his connection with the woman.
