A stunning performance from Robin Williams as a dad who leaves much to be desired with a dorky son, whose tendency to enjoy self strangulation ends up in an accidental suicide. His Father (Williams) then uses the subsequent fame his son’s suicide has generated in the school where both his son attended and he teaches, as a platform to promote his books and essays on the premise that his son wrote them.

Nicholas Cage plays a bad (and i mean extremely bad, perverse, and decadent) cop in this movie. The film is almost Pulp Fictionesque in its level of bad taste – something which i find totally refreshing for a Nicholas Cage movie. I really enjoyed his totally corrupt behaviour and sexually twisted roleplay. The immense cheek and barefaced shamelessness which he adopts every time he takes a hit of crack ….
