The film stars Saoirse Ronan in the lead role as Susie Salmon, along with Mark Wahlberg and Rachel Weisz, as her parents Jack and Abigail Salmon respectively, in supporting roles.

Sgt. Nicholas Angel is just about the perfect copper: honest, reliable, and dedicated to public duty. The only problem is that he is too good. The movie for all drug fiends and paranoid schizophrenics to feel better about the way they feel and see the world. Surrealistic to say the least – and somehow it makes reality seem more surreal than the wierdest of dreams, when seen from the perspective of the trippers. An unrecognizable Johnny Depp gives an amazing performance as a tripped out lunatic on a mission.

Nicholas Cage plays a bad (and i mean extremely bad, perverse, and decadent) cop in this movie. The film is almost Pulp Fictionesque in its level of bad taste – something which i find totally refreshing for a Nicholas Cage movie. I really enjoyed his totally corrupt behaviour and sexually twisted roleplay. The immense cheek and barefaced shamelessness which he adopts every time he takes a hit of crack ….
